Lovely dated hotel with lots of character, the old and original fittings are still in place in some parts of the hotel. The staff are friendly the rooms although dated and could do with some TLC (a bit of paint or sealer here and there just to tidy it up) were clean and tidy the bed was comfy. There was TV and tea and coffee making. The shower was great too. Parking was free but this is being changed to a discounted rate for residents. Breakfast was included and for the location (right on the main street with all the shops and bars) and price of this hotel is a great stay. Also renivating an indian resteraunt in the main hall with a lovely glass dome ceiling so will have to try this out next time were visiting.
We recently stayed at The Crown Hotel and had a pleasant overall experience. The hotel offers reasonable prices, spacious and clean rooms, and a truly beautiful location — perfect for a relaxing getaway. The staff were friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile, which made the stay even more enjoyable. However, the property could use a bit of TLC in certain areas to freshen things up. During my stay, the radiators weren’t working, which made the room chilly, especially in the evening. However the kind staff managed to provide us electric portable radiators which was life-saving! Despite these minor issues, it’s a good value for money stay with great potential, and I’d happily consider coming back after a few improvements are made.
A charming old building with friendly staff. Rooms feel a little dated but do have the right facilitates. Staff were super friendly and attentive, a real credit to the hotel. Location is right in the middle of Stone, very easy for a night out. Breakfast is hot and tasty, not overly fancy but nice
The crown is under new management. They are working really hard to bring it back to its former glory. All the staff are lovely and the hotel has become a very nice place to stay. It's the perfect location for visiting the town with its many independent cafes and shops.
We got a decent room at an affordable price but for the money it wasn't the best. Generous 4 stars. Main issue was that the room was too hot and I struggled to sleep . However, location is good and parking is free

I was coming to this town for one day business and I had to stay for a night. I searched for a hotel and chosen Crown Hotel. It’s really nice and the staff are friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable. Everything was working perfectly, the shower, the bed was clean and everything was perfect for the price. It also had free parking. Thanks for the wonderful hospitality and good management
A charming stay with a touch of ABBA magic! I had such a lovely time at The Crown Suites. The rooms were beautifully kept, cozy, and made for a really comfortable stay. What made it extra special was the ABBA tribute night; so much fun, great energy, and a real highlight of my trip. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming, which made the experience feel even more personal. A truly delightful stay, I’ll definitely be back.
Superb location, value and service. We stayed in the grand suite and it was huge! The room was clean with good facilities, although there weren’t water glasses we asked for a bottle at reception and they were very helpful. The hotel has recently been taken over and it didn’t have a smooth operation yet, but everyone we spoke to was great and I’m sure it will get there in time. Our only complaint was that the bedding wasn’t that comfy/high quality. We also had a curry while we were there which was amazing!
Passed through Stone recently for a night and was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. I had actually booked at another nearby hotel but I wasnt happy with their service so decided to change last minute and the Crown were happy to accommodate us with no reservation. I opted for a classic room but the staff kindly upgraded us to a suite which was spacious and light. The hotel is also really well located in the centre of the high street so everything you might need was within walking distance, including a Morrison’s. I was told that they are in the process of renovation so there’s still some work to be done to the rooms but we had a comfortable stay overall. We also had a great meal and drinks in the Library Bar which I was told had just been decorated and was just lovely. Special mention for the delicious coffee!
